OCTOBER 11 - r kids online experience plan

Hi r Kids!

We are now in the third week of our series called, “God’s Masterpiece.” In this series, we are learning about how God lovingly created and uniquely designed each and every one of us.

Today, we will learn about how we are chosen by God. Not because of anything we have done, but because of His perfect and amazing love. You are chosen because you are God’s masterpiece!

Parents: You can use the videos below alone or together with the RKids Online Experience Plan! Check out the plan below and simply watch the corresponding videos when prompted in the guide! After all, YOU are the best teachers your kids could ever have! Have fun with it!

We love you and are praying for your family today!

Bible Lesson & MEMORY VERSE

Now it’s time to jump into our lesson, which includes a song to help you remember the memory verse.

"For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” (Ephesians 2:10)

Today’s lesson is called “God's Masterpiece"

First, get comfy, grab a Bible, and click on our lesson video below.

Then, after a quick stretch break (or run really fast on the spot), come back together to talk about this story and what it means to YOU!

Summary:  When it came time to enter the land, Joshua gave his people instructions to which they responded that they would do whatever Joshua asked of them. They believed that God was with Joshua just as He had been with Moses. The Israelites trusted Joshua’s leadership because they knew he had been chosen by God for this specific role. Just like Joshua was chosen by God for a special purpose, God has chosen us too! God specifically made and picked us. We were all created for a special purpose!

family discussion questions

5-7 year olds

When you grow up, what would you like to be? Those are some great dreams! Those dreams might change and grow as you get older, but one thing that will never change is that you are a special creation chosen by God to do great things for Him.

What do you think it means to be chosen?  Nobody likes to be the last person picked on a team. It makes us feel unwanted. But guess what? You were hand-picked to play on God’s team. God picked you and made you because He wanted you to bring Him great joy!

God chooses us, but we also have to choose to follow Him. How can you obey God this week?  Obedience is one of the ways we show God we love Him. God is preparing you for what He has prepared for you and part of that preparation involves obeying Him. Do not be afraid to trust Him!

A talent is a natural ability. What talents do you think God has given you?  Each of us has been given different gifts for doing certain things well. You are all talented and God has chosen to give you those abilities for a reason and purpose!

God chooses us, but we also have to choose to follow Him. How can you obey God this week? Obedience is one of the ways we show God we love Him. God is preparing you for what He has prepared for you and part of that preparation involves obeying Him. Do not be afraid to trust Him!

Sometimes we do not do what God calls us to do because we compare ourselves to others. Why do you think we do this? The Bible says that comparison is the thief of joy – it steals our happiness. When we compare ourselves to others, we lose sight of the fact that God decided to create us. Because we all sin, we all struggle with comparison, but because we are all chosen by God, we can all overcome comparison!

Pray it out

Let's talk to god

You did it! You just took a deep dive into God’s Word – together! Let’s take time now to talk to God.
Ask your child to share things they’d like to pray about.
Write down their prayer requests and then pray together over each request.

Dear God,

Thank you for choosing to love us. Not because we deserve it or because you have to, but because you want to. Lord, please teach us how to accept your love and how to believe and understand you have chosen us to be your children. We know that our lives will be more joyful, more significant and more exciting when we accept this amazing truth.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen
